What it was

"Photovoltaics for All" was a combined grant + repayable-loan scheme designed to make solar accessible to cash-strapped households: EAC fronted the cost, and the customer repaid through their electricity bill over time.

Historical figures (for reference only)

• Grant: €125 per installed kW

• Max grant: €500 (for a 4 kW system)

• Repayment amount: €1,125 per kW (max €4,500)

• Max system size: 4.16 kWp

What if I already have an active A3 contract?

Repayment continues under the terms you signed with EAC. The 1 January 2026 transition to the new self-consumption framework does not affect the grandfathering of customers with existing contracts.

Alternatives for new systems

• Category A1 — General: €375/kW, max €1,500

• Category A2 — Vulnerable Households: enhanced grant
